Lord Jesus, you are The Sun of Righteousness (Malachi 4:2) rising with healing in your wings.
Prayer: Lord we do not know when the day of fire will come wherein the proud and wicked shall be burned. Therefore, I ask you God, to have mercy on us. Remove pride and wickedness away from us that we may live doing what is right in your site. Help us to understand that being humble is not weakness, but strength in controlling our temperament. Bless us to have the fear of your name in our heart for your name is holy. With your blessings, we shall honour and respect it.
You are the only powerful means to diffuse healing on earth today, wherever there is a need. Heal us, Lord.
You are the power behind our faith. Refresh our faith so that your people will grow stronger in belief.
We hope in you for healing of spiritual and physical diseases.
Reflection:
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11 Prayer: Lord you are the power behind our faith, our perfection (Hebrew 5:8); our motivation (Psalm 40:8; 2nd Corinthians 12:9)
I pray this day that your love will guide us to glory in you. Make us perfect servants, inspire our spirit to build a deeper relationship with you. As God has given each one of us a portion of faith to believe in you.
You paid the blood price for our sins giving us the opportunity with blessings
to get rid of our old sinful character: in how we think, what we say and how we behave.
We have been made new in you; so, teach us to imitate you: our example; our purity (2nd Peter); our pattern for righteousness.
Reflection: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; Hebrews 5:8
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Hebrews 5:9
A hiding Place from the wind and a Covert from the tempest; a River of water in a dry place, the Shadow of a great rock in a weary land Isaiah 32:2
Prayer: My prayer today is that I will not be weary of evil tidings, but be grateful that you hide me from the wind: everything that is trying to uproot me in my faith and cover me from the tempest: all attacks even the worst. Thanks that my soul will never be dry, because you refresh it with your living water: divine in substance, pure in elements. As man continually tries to make our land weary; we still find rest in your shadow, our great Rock.
A crown of glory and a diadem of beauty unto the residue of his people. Isaiah 28:5
Prayer: Lord help us to live each day as your servants doing good works to your honour and glory. Open the eyes of our mind to see and appreciate the splendid work you do in us: sustaining our faith; nourishing our soul with spiritual bread, your word; You alone are worthy to be honoured, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Reflection: A crown is a royal headdress, a diadem is the jewelled headband part of a crown worn as a symbol of sovereignty. God, the Father crowns Christ Jesus with the crown of royalty symbolic of a headband filled with jewels and precious stones, a splendid crown of brightness and beauty. All his chosen people will honour and glorify him: King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Christ will be both glory and beauty to them.
A tried Stone, a precious Stone; a Sure Foundation Isaiah 28:16
Prayer: Jesus our foundation(1 Cor. 3:11) of truth, our tried stone, teach us to resist temptation (Matthew 4:1-11) as you resisted it. In trials let your presence in us show us a way of escape. We are your church and you are the ruler of your church, the chief corner stone, the precious stone that holds your church together; implant in us a burning fire to serve you. Build us up to be strong in you; to see you highly, most excellent, most glorious above all.
Reflection
Matthew 4: 1-11
1. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devilB
2. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
5. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
7. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
9. And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
11. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
A Nail in a Sure Place Isaiah 22:23-25
Prayer: Lord as I am a nail on which people hang, fix my eyes on you, let me feed from your Holy Word that my life may be a sound example of you working in me. As I hang unto you to make it through this day, my heart is encouraged to not be afraid or discouraged or overwhelmed by what happens in the world today. Let all those who hang onto me equally experience your joy and protection.
Reflection:
Christ is the nail on which we as believers hang for all our teaching: He is a stable nail, one that is not shaken or wearing or rusting or bending. He is not only a stable nail, but a nail that is driven into a secured place. That secured place is God.
As we are in Christ, we are typical of him therefore, we are nails on which other people hang; our family, friends and acquaintances hang onto us for moral/physical support, encouragement, advice and so on. If we are unstable nails, we fall, they fall. What we are driven into is what make us stable nails in a sure place. The word of God is the sure place. If we as nails are driven into the word of God, we will remain stable and not fall, because God sustains us.
Prayer: Lord Jesus our refiner and purifier, You know our impurities: disobedience; unbelief; bad habits ; rudeness etc. You know our values: the potential to become obedient servants of God; to offer prayers of thanksgivings and live righteously. May the fire of your cleansing power refine our souls and filter us of all ungodly qualities. Let us experience your transforming power in giving us a renewed mind to believe; to please; to worship God our creator.
